NY Daily Latest Flight Addition for Telluride

Winter Schedule Features 15 Non-Stop Flights from 11 Hubs Nationwide

TELLURIDE, Colorado (October 19, 2018) – Telluride’s air service continues to expand with New York flights going daily this winter, along with added daily holiday flights from San Francisco and larger jets from Dallas-Ft. Worth to the Telluride/Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ). The destination will also see added Denver directs into the Telluride Airport (TEX).

United’s Newark International Airport (EWR) to MTJ route will see a significant increase in service this winter, now running daily during the core weeks of the season from Dec. 19 – Jan. 6 and Feb. 16 – Mar. 30, with Saturday & Sunday flights Jan 12 – Feb 10. Noting for our New York travelers, the former weekly La Guardia (LGA) flights will be absorbed into the expanded Newark service.

“The New York City metro area is one of the largest ski markets in North America and it’s an important destination market for Telluride as well.” said Bill Jensen, Telluride Ski Resort’s CEO. “Working with United Airlines to increase the frequency of new flights and access options for guests traveling from the northeastern U.S. has been a top priority for the destination, and we anticipate our guests will appreciate this increase in nonstop flights and frequency between Newark and Montrose.”

United is also adding daily holiday flights from San Francisco (SFO) to MTJ to complement three-times weekly service through the season, and American is featuring larger jets this winter with the 160-seat Boeing 737-800 on the Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) – MTJ morning route.

As recently announced, United partner Boutique Air is now flying DEN – TEX multiple times daily year-round, allowing travelers to connect from all over the country into the airport just 10 minutes from Telluride and the ski resort.

The 2018-19 winter season will see an overall increase in air service of approximately 7% into the two airports serving the destination, MTJ & TEX. This is a 28% increase over the last three years.

The two airports now feature 15 nonstop flights from 11 major hubs, including seven daily nonstop flights from six major hubs.

“We’re proud of the recent major steps we’ve taken in building travel options for both our incoming guests and regional travelers,” said Colorado Flights COO Matt Skinner. “Telluride ranks among the best in mountain destinations for nonstop or one-stop flights from all over the country on the major carriers.”
